Do you provide independent inspection and assay?

Yes. Sampling and analysis is carried out at the point of loading by an agreed inspection company, SGS or a buyer-nominated alternative, and the results are issued to both parties. We do not trade on a seller's claimed grade.

What Incoterms and payment terms do you work on?

FOB Mombasa and Dar es Salaam as standard, with CIF to a destination port on request. We prefer documentary instruments, with documents released against the payment instrument in place. Terms are set around what the buyer's bank will accept.

Can you supply trial tonnage before a term contract?

Yes, and we encourage it. Tell us the commodity, grade, trial and term tonnage and destination port, and we will confirm plainly whether we can supply it.

How do you verify that a consignment can legally be exported?

Title and control over the material is evidenced before an offer is issued, mining or trading permits are confirmed with the licensed holder, and export permits, royalties and certificates of origin are put in place for the exporting jurisdiction before shipment.

The division

The difficulty in African minerals is rarely the ore. It is the paperwork behind it.

East and Central Africa hold vast and, in places, barely explored mineral resources. Buyers in Europe, India, China and the Gulf want that material. What stops most transactions is not geology or price, it is the inability to verify that a seller controls the product, that the grade is what was claimed, and that the consignment can legally leave the country.

Turkani Ventures trades on verified supply only. We work with producers and licensed holders in the region, put independent inspection and assay in front of every shipment, and carry the export documentation through to delivery.
